Sometimes the tv guide is depressingly full of shows you just don't want to watch and in these situations, many people turn to their computer as a source of entertainment. With so many sites out there packed with myriad video material, it's always possible to find something you'd like to see.
Video streaming can be slow, however, and this makes the process frustrating. As well as entertainment, a lot of people rely on this medium to keep abreast of news and current affairs, and a broadcast that fails to load is extremely irritating.
Luckily, however, it is relatively easy to speed up the business of video streaming. There are a few basic things you can do to reduce buffering time and, best of all, these won't harm other systems. To start with, you should check that you have sufficient available memory.
If your hard drive is looking a little on the full side, delete some extraneous things. You should also close any non-essential windows. This will help your computer to process the video smoothly and will also reduce buffering time.
Finally, you shouldn't try to stream video if you are sharing a connection on a network. Depending on how many other users are online with you, your buffering time will slow down considerably.
